Well that didn’t take long. Our first trek out to the cabin to begin cleaning revealed surprise issue number one. Is it really a surprise if you know there will be surprises? My hubby turned on the water heater when we arrived so we could begin our epic scrubbing session. When the water didn’t get hot, this is what he found.

Yikes! We are just glad this didn’t start a fire and burn down the cabin before we got a chance to own it. Hubby planned to fix it, but my generous parents offered to purchase a brand new unit so today the new heater was installed by Lowes.

Isn’t it beautiful? 🙂 I never thought I would be excited about a water heater. Tomorrow is epic scrubbing session take 2. We are also going to demo the kitchen to make way for navy cabinets, quartz countertops, and all new appliances. Say goodbye to the 90’s oak.
