This weekend we were able to make some progress on the closets and bedrooms at the cabin. In an earlier post I showed the shiplap we installed in one of the guest bedrooms. I was able to get more progress pictures this time as we worked on shiplap in the boys room.

We purchased these beautiful large pieces from a local lumber mill. Last time we worked in the other room we used three pennies stacked together as spacers. This time we were a little smarter about it and taped them with a tab so they could easily be pulled out after we nailed the boards.
Our little helper made the process go faster.
We started to paint the shiplap in the other room and we managed to get one coat of paint on and installed the shoe molding at the floor.

We also installed a wooden screen door. The night before we wanted to have the door open so mom creatively taped it in :).

We polyurethaned the wooden shelves we cut to replace the wire shelves that were coming out of the walls in the closets. Here is one of the closets before.
These are the wooden shelves we are sanding and polyurethaning in preparation for installation.

We also scheduled a new metal roof which should be installed in the next four weeks.
We chose burnished slate in the crinkle finish on the right. I can’t wait to see it!
