Loft Library

Ever since I was little I dreamed of having a library of my own. The one I have created isn’t quite as fancy as those dreams used to be. I always envisioned floor to ceiling shelves with ladders and widow walks, but this is cozy and just what we needed! In our past homes we have always had our bookshelves scattered throughout the house. Now that we have downsized, we had to figure out what to do with all of our books. The loft seemed like the perfect place to work in a little home library. The bookshelves work well with the sloped ceilings. We have a desk space to work from home and a cozy recliner to cuddle up and read a good book.

I found these perfect bookshelves on wayfair. I went with the barnwood shelves to contrast with the dark hickory floors.
This rocking horse was made from a pecan tree that fell during huricaine Katrina. We purchased it for the boys (when I was pregnant with my first) at the Apple festival. I hope it will become a family heirloom.
Another cozy spot to read.
