Stone Retaining Wall

The first part of our outside renovation is complete. DeBord construction started the process by marking the wall in the shape we wanted.

The footers were dug out with an excavator.
We asked to curve the wall towards the driveway. We also created a curved section in the wall for our future fire pit area.

Next cement was poured to create a proper footer to support the wall.

We also got the new building going at the same time to get everything done at once.

The block masons had the wall up in no time.
I love the shape. Can you see the block base for the new building to the right? We are excited about this new space. More information coming later.
A gravel truck poured a base behind the wall for the new patio. We go back and forth about the patio material.

We ordered flagstone to match the stone already around our basement to cover the wall. The cap for the wall is a thick natural granite.

Stone going on!
It looks amazing! They will grade around the wall soon to cover up any exposed footers.
Once the deck is completed we can finish the patio and the outside will look finished!
We also finished the chimney! It makes a huge difference to the overall look of the home. The stone mason was kind enough to put our chimney cap on while he was up there so birds will no longer be accidentally flying in!

We are hopeful the rest of the construction will be completed and ready for this spring and summer. I can’t wait to have fun enjoying time with friends and family in this space.
